My tutoring 101 has been serving students in the Rio Grande Valley since 2010.
My name is Ana E. Yacobian, founder and owner of My tutoring 101. I have been an educator/tutor in public and private schools since I became an elementary teacher back in 1980. That is 40 years of experience in the teaching field! ( I can't believe that I am that old!)
Early in my career I realized that my struggling students were not being served adequately in large groups/ classroom settings, my desired to be better equipped to help all of my students prompted me to enroll in another career: Educational Psychology. After graduating in 1984, I then focused on students in Middle school and High school, being aware of their challenges, I pursued yet one more degree, this time in Special Education. This time I was blessed to attended the prestigious and first Teacher's college in America: Bridgewater University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, graduating in 1994 with a Masters in Education.
From 1994 to the present, I have been part of different educational settings serving as a teacher, Bilingual Special Education Teacher, educational consultant, academic coach, substitute teacher, phonics, reading, writing and math tutor, but most importantly, as a Homeschool mom. I homeschooled both my sons from Kindergarten to Highschool.
Working with all type of students, those who love academic learning, and those who do not , has been my long life passion. I often say that I am blessed to get paid to do what I love most. After 40 years in the education field, I can get tired teaching, but never be tired of teaching.
There is nothing more rewarding that a smile of pride in the faces of my students after they successfully perform a task that was once hard for them, whether a daily worksheet or a final test, their success is my success and my joy.
My classroom is equipped with all the necessary printed, digital and hands-on resources needed to provide a successful teaching-learning process.
I love when my students tell me that my classroom is their favorite!
